Festive Christmas Tree Themes

Along with one-of-a-kind decorations and statement toppers, another fun way to make your tree your own is to give it a theme. Here are some fun ideas on Christmas tree themes.

Christmas Village

If you love the snow, a Christmas village theme may be great for you and a chance to show off your DIY skills. Start with a white Christmas tree, so it looks like snow. Next, paint some cardboard houses in whatever designs you like. Then, take pipe cleaners to create mini wreaths to go on your houses. Finally, tuck your finished houses into the branches of your tree, and you have created a Christmas village.

Pretty in Pink, a Pastel Beauty

Who says that red, green, silver, and gold have to be the only colors you use at your Christmas time? In this new take on Christmas, use rosy pinks, warm gold tones, rich creams, and bright whites to create a soft, romantic, and whimsical tree that looks right at home in the Sugar Plum Fairy’s palace.

Character Tree

If you are looking for a simple way to decorate your tree, turning it into a fun holiday character is a good way to go. For example, you could create Frosty the Snowman using a white tree. Follow these directions:

  1. Create a snowman head and face using a large foam sphere.
  2. Place your completed head at the top of the tree.
  3. Add two scarves underneath the head.
  4. To make it look like your snowman has buttons, line up three to seven black ornaments in the center of the tree.
  5. Finally, take a couple of branches and place them two-thirds of the way up the tree on each side to make arms.
